Friendly Staff

All our staff are volunteers, drawn from the local churches. We are hugely grateful for every one who offers their services. Volunteers work 3 hour slots, from 10am -1pm, and 1pm to 4pm. Volunteers are all recommended by church leaders and gain experience ‘on the job’. Some have over 20 years' service with us, others are relative newcomers. However, everyone will seek to help you in any way they can.

The shop is managed by a board of 3 trustees who ensure that the trust is run in accordance with Charity Commission guidelines, whilst pursuing our mission of providing high quality Christian materials to the local churches and members of the public, to support people at all stages of their journey of faith.

We also have a large number of Children's Bibles, from first readers to teenagers, presenting the timeless text in a format that every age group can understand

Christian Literature

Books from every genre are available, and other titles or authors can be ordered in. From Apologetics and Systematic Theology, through to Biographies and Testimonies, there is something for everyone. Our largest section has the heading 'Miscellaneous' where the books don’t fit easily into the other main categories. Daily Devotionals and Prayer books are particularly popular, as are colouring books and gift books to encourage faith.

Leisure Literature

The humour of Adrian Plass and Nick Page, historical and biblical themed novels based around bible characters all have their fans. But have you ever considered Christian crime or political drama? We carry them all, as well as popular allegorical books such as Pilgrims Progress or Hannah Hurnard’s Hind Feet on High Places retain their popularity over the years.

Colin Old

Since the 1980s, ‘Cornerstone’ bookshop in Bemisters Lane has been a radiant light in an otherwise uninspiringly dull part of Gosport town centre. It has managed to combine a rich panoply of Christian books and gifts with a diversity of dedicated staff whose commitment to supporting God’s vision for Gosport has been central to its success. The well-proportioned arrangement of books, cards, CDs, and specialised gifts makes navigation a straightforward process. One becomes lost in the cornucopia of delights on offer. I always end up spending more than I had anticipated. In short, the place is infectious but in a positive way.

Johnny (Ionut) Boghean

I am considering myself blessed to live in a town with a Christian bookshop, a place to find a card with a Biblical theme, a present with a spiritual message, a book to help with a question, a nice Christian novel or simply a place to go and chat with brothers and sisters.
